So my first thought is, is it actually taking 10-15 seconds to copy the image? Or is it taking 10-15 second to become responsive again? I recommend a clipboard viewer of some kind. #Copies for supercolor to brake even copy fast pspPSP does copy 9 different versions of the image to the clipboard (one for each major file version for backwards compatibility). There is no difference in what gets copied if I use CTRL+ C or CTRL+SHIFT+C.įor me copy merged is only slightly slower than regular copy Which makes sense. I verified this with freeclipboardviewer which shows me a preview of the bitmap version of anything PSP copies to the clipboard. It'll copy all visible merged data in that selection but it'll still be the small selection. That way I can keep my hand on the mouse and simply move the pointer to each button as needed without the distraction of leaving the mouse for the keyboard, hitting the keys and then having to return to the mouse for further work.Īnd actually, my Paste as New Layer button is actually a boundscript so that when the layer is pasted on another image the Mover tools is also automatically selected, because more often than not I want to be able to move that new layer around on the image that I have pasted it on to.Ĭopy merged should not copy the whole image if you only have a selection. So I actually have the Copy, Copy Merged, Paste as New Image and Paste as New Layer commands as buttons on my toolbar. In my case, I do most of my work in PSP with the mouse, so taking my hand off of the mouse to use keystrokes to achieve something and then having to put it back on the mouse is a time and movement waster. Both are equally fast for me in PSP 2019, although the former needs an extra key held down. If your source (i.e., the image you are making a copy of) doesn't have multiple layers as you stated, then you should be getting the same image copy using the Control+Shift+C combination as you would get using the Control+C combination. This key combination makes a copy of all layers of a layered image and copies them merged, while the Copy combination only copies the layer that is highlighted in the Layers palette. My source does not have multiple layers (my destination does), but this is *so* much faster than Control + C. This is the PSP key combination for Copy Merged layers.
